I think the current market reflects the mixed and uncertain opinions of investors, the global economy is getting way too inter-connected and complicated making it difficult to assess the damage and impact on another part of economy where no-one would have thought it to be affected. Just look at the sub-prime issues, from home lenders to hedge funds to bond insurer, to banks and now to insurance company.
Then we have inflation with countries like Indonesia, India & Malaysia increasing oil pump prices, some say oil prices influenced by speculators, some says it a factor of actual supply demand constraint, which is the correct picture, .
So what are we gonna do now, for me it is more of "trading " then long-term investing as I believe there would be more "shocks' to come jolting the world markets on and on , get ready some cash , pick up beaten down counters, then when good news flow and markets rises, sell them.

Well, I don't really trade, I am a FA investor, but I trade in situations like :
- prior to ex-date for bonus
- spin-off/listing of a subsidiary
- prior to ex-date for rights issue
- when major bad news strikes, like the March election results - an opportunist here
subject to companies with fundamental only and having the ready cash to pick up for at least seeing profits or minimal cut-loss, whichever comes first, u know ler , all these thoughts will be coming to the head, sell, no sell, loss, shit , sei lor, .... see I am no good at trading.....
There is no winning formula in this kind of trade, but I am not greedy so "scrapping" 200 bucks here and there satisfies me, just some petrol money.

Could have chosen DoggyJ but that would be so unserious, WarrenJ, Warren you know who lah, J is the beginning letter of my name.
FA = fundamental analysis
Are you pulling my leg? You know.
Well , an investor could be group into a number of category
FA only
TA only ( technical analysis )
FA + TA ( combined both )
then there are those monkey names they game themselves , with this system that system, wtf , and sometimes those ad appear on this forum ( so annoying, can't complain much they pay you leh)
