JL,

For me, i do believe that there is no right or wrong here. As you know, there are simply so many ways to trade a stock. Each one's entry and exits would vary from one another.

However... having said that.. most important is you... which is discovering the strategy that would work the best and work in the most consistent manner for you.

Add my 2 sen, you really need to find your edge.

1) Time Frame

You might want to define your time frame first. Which time frame will you trade? EOD? Weekly? 60 Min? Each time frame will entail different strategy.

2)Trade plan

Do u have your battleplan planned before each entry? Is the price moves as what you will expect? Is the former resistance still valid?

3)Style

Are you more successful in Breakout trading (momemtum which is positive feedback) or in ranging market (negative feedback). Sometimes, it is hard to juggle between this 2 as you might know it, 20% of the time price is trending and this is true in all time frame.

4)Risk management and position sizing

This will make sure you stay in the game long enough before you see the next bull. Since we cant short market, the time to make easy money is still general bull market. You want to make sure you do not face severe drawdown either in equity or confidence too quickly.

5) Volume study

Have you paid attention to the volume of the securities? Volume signified the intensity of the bull and bear battle. Remember, it take price and volume to make one chart....

Just my mumblings....
